If you know about NFTs then you know about the Gutter Cat Gang. The collection has led the charge of the NFT market during 2021 and in my opinion is one of the best bets to survive the bear market and break previous all time high’s sometime in the near future.
At time of writing Gutter Cats are sitting at a floor of 6 ETH, with future price action obviously being dependent on the outcome and duration of the bear market. Whether they will go lower in the near future in terms of ETH and/or dollar amount is a matter of speculation and the effect of the ETH merge on the price of ETH will have alot to do with it.
Of course 6 ETH is a high asking price for an NFT especicially in current market conditions (arounf $10,000). One of the selling points of the Gutter Cat Gang is the accessibility of sub collections. After Gutter Cats came Gutter Rats, Gutter Dogs, Gutter Pigeons, and Gutter Clones, prividing staggered entry points into the collections all the way down to 0.15 ETH at time of wring for the cheapest Gutter Clone NFT. This accessibility makes the collection a great choice of NFT for pretty much everyone, and in my opinion the collection is well positioned for a long term hold, given that the collection is well known, has been building for over a year now, and has made significant money on secondary sales in that time frame, as well as the mint prices of their secondary collections.
To date, the Gutter Cat Gang team has been delivering again and again and this bodes well for the future of the collection. Some deliverables that the team has successfully come through with include, merch drops, Guttercon and Guttercon 2.0, a partnership with Puma which may yield perks for holders in the future, as well as numerous other collaborations and even a basketball tournament. The Gutter Cat Gang is quickly becoming a cultural powerhouse, and it looks like they will continue building on this impressive foundation to create a lasting brand.
The glaring con that I can see when investing at the lower price point into Gutter Clones is that the supply has not been fully created yet, and will eventually reach a supply of 28,000. Long term I do not see this an issue, however short term it may be wiser to wait until the collection is fully diluted and purchase then. I say may because this is not guaranteed to be cheaper. In the long term I think that this larger supply is a good thing, given that the collection is so popular and has so many fans. The crypto market is expected to grow, that means more buyers will want to hold Gutter assets. For the longer hold, I think we see a high demand for these NFTs during the next bull market and patience will be rewarded.
