RFK Jr. Reveals Central Park Bear Incident Amid Pro-Crypto Presidential Campaign

Article

Pro-crypto presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently confessed to being the one responsible for leaving a dead bear in New York City’s Central Park a decade ago. This revelation, made in a video posted on X on August 4, was shared with actress Roseanne Barr. Kennedy clarified that he did not kill the bear; it had been struck by another vehicle. “I pulled over, picked up the bear, and placed it in the back of my van,” he recounted. He intended to skin the bear and store its meat in his refrigerator, a legal practice for roadkill in New York State.

After a long day of game hunting, Kennedy had planned to return home but opted to head straight to the city for dinner instead. Post-dinner, he was on his way to the airport but didn’t want to leave the bear in his vehicle. “I said let’s go and put the bear in Central Park and make it look like it got hit by a bike,” he narrated. This decision was made during a period when cyclist-related accidents were on the rise in New York. The following day, news of the bear in Central Park was featured on every state television station and made the front pages of numerous newspapers. “Luckily, the story died after a while and stayed dead for a decade,” Kennedy added.

The initial report of the incident came from the New York Times in October 2014, when officials verified the bear was roadkill after it was discovered by a park-goer walking her dog. This peculiar story adds another layer to the eccentric persona of RFK Jr., who once claimed that a worm had eaten part of his brain.

Kennedy Jr.’s Vision for Crypto

RFK Jr. has ambitious plans for cryptocurrency if he wins the presidency. He has announced intentions to direct the Treasury Department to purchase 500 Bitcoin daily until the reserve reaches at least four million coins. During the 2024 Bitcoin Conference in Nashville in late July, he emphasized, “We need to move as a country that’s able to get some control over Bitcoin as part of a reserve.” Despite his grand plans, Kennedy is currently trailing in the polls. Following President Joe Biden’s exit, he holds just 5.4% of the vote compared to Kamala Harris’s 45.3% and Donald Trump’s 43.7%.

This latest revelation is just one of many unusual stories surrounding RFK Jr., further highlighting his complex and often controversial character. While his pro-crypto stance has garnered attention, it remains to be seen how it will impact his political aspirations.
